Xiamora "Xia" Lancaster
:: twenty two ::
female
.pomosexual.
Postion you would like: Photographer
Personality: Xia is a carefree soul and a total badass. She lives for the moment and not for the future. She isn't afraid of stepping out and doing something bold because you only live once. You don't get no do-overs. You'll see her doing something silly like skipping down the sidewalk singing songs from when she was a child. Some will as her friends "is she drunk?" they'll just say, "No, that's just Xia."
She hates labels of any kind. She believes you shouldn't put someone in a box and say they have to be a certain way because of the label they have; and then frown on them when they do something different. It's a huge reason why she labels herself as pomosexual (even though it is an oxymoron) and if the question comes up with what gender she likes she will reply with "humans." They aren't needed. And it will upset her if you try to pin a name, a category to her just because of how she acts.
When something actually does get under her skin she withdraws herself from everyone until she gets whatever her situation is fixed. Unfortunately this sometimes result in her going "missing" for months sometimes depending on the severity of the situation. She doesn't want to bring down anyone with her problems. She's the one who lifts everyone up. She doesn't understand that with friends and people you care about, they are there to lift you up too. It's not one sided.
Xia cares a great deal about people. Everyone. She is always concerned with everyones well being. If you are down she'll try to think of anything to pick you up. And if she can't she will feel terrible about it for a long time. However don't mistake her for being a pushover. For when she sees she is being taken advantage of she will back away and let you know very violently (with her mouth) that she won't be taken for a fool and they better watch what they do.
History:
BIRTHXiamora was born in the home of Morris Lancaster and Georgette Ramos. The two were not yet married at the time, but planned on tying the knot very soon. They were very happy to have their first child together. Especially after trying for an entire year before Georgette actually got knocked up. She was a 7 pound 6 ounce child with wavy brown hair and gorgeous brown eyes. She looked more like Morris but definitely had Georgettes hair and her smile. This was the start of a happy family.
CHILDHOODAs the little Xia grew up she was nothing but trouble. You had to always keep an eye on her for she would get into any and everything. She always wanted to explore, always wanted to know what something did and how things worked. She always asked a million and one questions and even after you gave her the answer she'd still ask why. She loved to learn. Preschool was her all tie favorite place and would be fussy when it was time to go home. But that was nothing that a little ice cream or candy couldn't solve. Inside the house it was filled with crayons on the walls. The parents never discouraged this since they were both artists. The father was a painter and the mother specialized in clay art. They didn't want to crush her creative side.
5-10When Xia started elementary school she definitely made sure to make her parents proud. She always brought home high marks and always behaved well. Her favorite class was art class. She'd always be excited to go home and show her parents what she had made. They'd take her creations and post them up on the walls. She'd be so proud. She'd always stare at them all proudly sometimes, then would run off to go play, or break open the remote control to see how it worked. (she still reaked havoc getting into things even at this age) By now it was expected and it did irritate the parents a little, but they still realized that she just was hungry for learning so they didn't really punish her for any of it that much.
11-15By the time she had reached middle school art had began to consume her life. She was already a pretty good painter and sketcher by age eleven and it was just getting better and better. She continued to get good grades but slowly as the years went by she started to focus less on her studies and more on her art. At thirteen all she would do was draw in all her classes. It took her to another world. She enjoyed that world alot. Her grades began to fall but they weren't awful; they just figured it was a phase.
When she entered high school though and had more resources for art available to her, she would spend all of her time in the art room. Her lunch time, the time before school, time after school. Sculpting, painting, other forms of art as well. By her sophmore year her grades began falling dangerously low and her parents were beginning to worry. Xia was getting too indulged in art and not realizing that getting through high school was the most important thing. They began taking away her things, and had even called the school art teacher and asked for her to be taken out of that class and not even be allowed to go into the room. This devastated the young girl and made her miserable. One afternoon during one of her short school breaks her father took her to a fantastic art museum out in london and showed her all of the different artists. He even had some of his work there. He explained to her that although these people were passionate, they also realized that schooling was important. She had to stay on top of her grades if she wanted to get into a good art college, and if she didn't, she'd never be an artist. She understood and was determined to make her dreams come true.
16-20In Xia's sophomore year she had begun to developed a high interest in photography. She had studied digital photography and started using the camera herself, going to her teachers and some of her parents friends soaking up and learning more. Her greed for learning had never went away, it just went mostly into photography now. She found capturing life's moments to be extraordinary and the things you could do to manipulate photos were pretty cool too. Later on that year she became president of the Art club. The former president had graduated and the art teacher believed that the most talented student should be the next president. She he chose Xia. She was flattered and spent every free moment she had making sure it was the most awesome time in everyone in the clubs life.
She was on top of school again of course, there was an art school in New york that was calling her name and she was determined to get there. She would go to the local art shows and festivals and put her work up on display, alot of it was photographs she had taken- and let it get criticized. She liked the good and the bad criticism. She wanted it to be perfect. Her house was pretty much lined with artwork that she had done now. Also with the artwork was certificates and ribbons and even had a few plaques for the outstanding jobs she did. Her parents were proud. She'd still go by and look at what she had done, proud of herself.
Xia was so on top of her school work that she managed to graduate early. At the age of 17 she had gotten a scholarship to that school in new york that she desired to go to. She worked hard for 4 years and learned alot of new things and eventually got a degree in visual arts.
20-22Right after she got out of school she began to look for a job as a photographer. While she was doing that she was working at the local walmart. She hated it alot but knew one day she'd get her big break. She did some work for a showcase for amateur artists, and Rose Murray's husband Fred Murray, had actually been there. He seemed to love Xia's work and told her so. He asked for a way to contact her in the near future just in case he needed a photographer with her style. A few weeks later she was contacted by one of Rose Murray's assistant to do a test shoot with them. She was nervous but she would swallow it and do what she did best. Rose Murray was impressed and offered her a job as one of the Agency's top photographers. This was fantastic news for her. This of course was not the end of her journey. She wanted her skills and expertise to be recognized, known, and appreciated by everyone. Rose murray was just the foot in the foor to her wonderful success.
